Chade Evans Denied Her Day In Court

Chade Evans was unable to attend her scheduled hearing Wednesday, October 24, before Hoover Municipal Court due to the horrific effects caused from her chemotherapy treatment. She was set for a hearing on her motions for dismissal of probation with JCS and for recall of the writ of arrest.
The increased stress of having outstanding issues with the City of Hoover only adds unnecessary fear and intimidation. It was her desire to have her motions heard that day and resolved.
The Judge denied her counsel an opportunity to present her case before the Hoover Municipal Court. Instead, the Judge ordered her counsel to submit her argument in writing in response to Hoover Prosecutor Charlie Waldrep's untimely motion for the case to be submitted on briefs without oral argument. With that, Chade's lawyer was told she could not argue even though she told the Judge she was prepared to present Chade's case.
